3.11 This note is for my grandma

She develops the symptoms for Alzheimer's Disease, as was pointed out by her doctor. Who knows one day this will happen to a person who used to have a strong memory.

3.8 Heavy Drinkers/Alcoholic Use Disorders (AUD)

These two are different concepts.

(Monnig 2015) To be diagnosed as AUD, participants must complete the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT), the Alcohol Dependence Scale (ADS), and the Impaired Control Scale (ICS), as well as demographic and drinking history questionaires.White matter damage is a hallmark injury of alcohol use disorders (AUD).

(Dawson 2011): Definition for heavy drinking: no less than 4 drinks for women, no less than 5 drinks for men for one time (episode).'

(Mar.17) Dieter: according to DSM-IV, alcohol abuse and alcohol dependence are two distinct conditions. AUD encompasses both.
